- The first version of the .MOD format on Amiga was only 15 instruments.
-
- 1531 converts old 4ch 15instr modules into 4ch 31instr.
- 3115 converts 4ch 31instr modules into old 15instr module format.
-
- Syntax: 1531 <filename.mod>
- 3115 <filename.mod>
-
- The output (converted) file has the same name than the source, except the
- first character is replaced by "_". Example: if you type '1531 nolimit.mod',
- the file '_olimit.mod' will be created. These programs don't want to convert
- a module if its filename already begins by "_": that's a security against
- overwriting.
-
- I coded these softs in 1 hour. So there isn't any file format test: you could
- convert a 15instr into 15instr AGAIN, a 8 channels MOD into 15instr. 8ch. (that
- doesn't exist!), or even a text file or your autoexec.bat ! Sorry but I was to
- lazy to detect flags. So always listen to the converted file before deleting
- the source.
-
- I advise you against using them on diskettes, because they don't test if there
- is enough place left on disk before writing on it (I coded that but it didn't
- want to work immediately so I got angry and I crashed the function). Actually,
- I really don't know what happens when you want them to output a file on a full
- disk !
-
- Moreover: if you convert a 31 samples into a 15 samples modules, excessive
- samples are keeped (only the path is deleted), so your module will waste disk
- space. Anyway, you would be quite stupid to convert a file into the 15 sam-
- ples format, if it contains more than 15 samples.
-
-
- Enjoy these converters, almost 3115.exe, the most unuseful soft on earth !
